The Bulk Email Builder is used to assist with managing lists of students, faculty, and staff, and communicating with the university community. Download lists and also upload lists to create short-term distribution lists for easy sending.

Get Started

  1. Go to Bulk Email Builder.
  2. Enter your NetID and Password, and click Login.
  3. If prompted, complete Duo authentication.

Primary Uses for Bulk Email Builder

Generate and export lists of faculty, staff, and students

For faculty and staff lists, filter by division, department, unit employee status, tenure status, EEO category, job title, employee type and building.

For student lists, filter for classification, major residence, sports, max credit hours, and whether or not the student has a privacy hold on their account. Save filtered lists to run again in the future to get updated data.

Upload lists to create a temporary distribution list email address that sends email to everyone on the list

Whether the list was exported directly from the Bulk Email Builder or if you've got your own list, upload it to the Bulk Email Builder to create a temporary distribution list email address. Once created, the temporary email address can be used in Outlook's BCC line to send to everyone on the list.

While this email address only lasts 48 hours, the system saves your list to use again in the future with a newly generated temporary email address. The tool also allows you to designate exactly who has permission to send to the temporary email address, further protecting it from being sent by unauthorized people.
