Attendance Tool Best Practices

Avoid Creating Multiple Meetings For Future Class Days

By default, the Attendance tool displays the most recently created meeting. You must scroll to view older meetings. Avoid frequently scrolling by creating your meetings as they occur instead of setting up all meetings in advance.

Do Not Use Check-in Code To Take Attendance If Session Was Not Created Using Check-in Code Feature

Check-in codes help streamline attendance taking by placing the recording responsibility on the student. If you set up a meeting without a check-in code and decide to use one later, it is best practice to delete the meeting and recreate it with the new check-in code. This ensures your meeting has only one method of check-in being used and that the check-in code works properly.

Do Not Change Session Time After Taking Attendance Using Check-in Code Feature

If you have recorded attendance using the check-in code feature do not change the meeting time. Updating the meeting time will alter attendee records for the meeting resulting in inaccurate attendance records.
