Why does Texas State ask for me to validate my Personal Email Address to Reset NetID Password?
A validated personal email address is a non-Texas State email address used to assist with resetting NetID passwords. It must be validated before you can use the Forgot Password process. This IT security feature helps Texas State know that you are indeed who you say that you are in order to reset your password and use Texas State online services.

Where can I find someone's NetID?
NOTE: When using Adobe Sign, it is important to address all email in this format: NetID@txstate.edu
There are two easy ways to find a person's NetID:
Option 1: Search from the Texas State home page, locate the person, and click on their name to reveal more information.
Option 2: Log into the Online Toolkit and use the Campus Directory.
