How to Join TXST-Bobcats using an Android Device

Android Versions 11 and above

  1. On your mobile device, go to the Wi-Fi settings. 
  2. Tap TXST-Bobcats.
On Wi-Fi settings, the top option is "TXST-Bobcats".

3. The first two options should default to proper options but ensure that EAP method is set to PEAP and that Phase 2 authentication is set to MSCHAPV2. 

EAP method on top should be "PEAP". Phase two authentication, right below that, should be "MSCHAPV2".

4. Tap Please select under CA certificate and select Use system certificates. 

Under "CA certificate", is "Please select". The second option is "Use system certificates", choose this,

5. The next two options should default to proper options but ensure that Minimum TLS version is set to TLS v1.2 or below and that Online Certificate Status is set to Do not verify or Do not validate. Note: For some versions of Android you may not have an option for the TLS version. 

Minimum TLS version is set to "TLS v1.0" by default. Right below this, Online Certification Status is set to "Do not verify".

6. Finally, enter txstate.edu for the Domain, your NetID for Identity, leave Anonymous identity blank, enter your NetID password for Password, and tap Connect. 

Under Domain is "txstate.edu". Identity is "NetID". Anonymous identity is blank and your NetID is the password".

Note: If your device fails to connect, you may need to forget the network before trying again. To do this, go back to WiFi Settings. Then tap and hold TXST-Bobcats and select Forget. 

Next to TXST-Visitor, is "forget".

Android Versions 10 and below

  1. In your mobile device, go to the Wi-Fi settings.
  2. Tap TXST-Bobcats.

  1. Tap Select certificate.

  1. Tap Don't validate.

  1. For Identity, enter your NetID.
  2. For Password, enter your NetID password.
  1. Tap Connect.
     
Enter your NetID and click connect
  1. Note: If your device fails to connect, you may need to forget the network before trying again. To do this, go back to WiFi Settings. Then tap and hold TXST-Bobcats and select Forget Network.
